Ringebu is in the heart of Gudbrandsdalen. The municipality has a population of just over 4,500 and has beautiful scenery and a lively cultural scene.
Nature and outdoor pursuits play a central role in Ringebu thanks to its rich and varied terrain.
The landscape offers everything from alluvial plains in the bottom of the valley via steep hillsides and narrow river crevices with virgin forest to high mountain plateaus where wild reindeer roam. Gudbrandsdalslågen, one of the best fishing rivers in Norway, flows in the bottom of the valley.
